<p>People spend a lot of money on the formation of their logo and walk away with no artwork files. <p>There is only one way to prevent this from happening and that is to create a style guide. Not only will a style guide aid you steer the reproduction of your logo - it will also help you extend your brand recognition – which many argue is one of the strongest selling tools.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The most typical question customers ask when purchasing a new projector for the home, office, or classroom is: do I take an LCD projector or a DLP projector? LCD, short for ‘liquid crystal device’ and DLP, an acronym for ‘digital light processing’ are the two most popular projector imaging technologies. With so many company brands and different models available, it can be overwhelming for clients to choose between the two technologies. The fact is that LCD projectors give far better image quality and colour accuracy. The next paragraph explains why DLP projectors struggle with projecting an equal standard of image quality.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s like a set of blinds in your home for your bedroom window. By a twist of a rod you can have the shutters open or closed, depending on if you want to let light in or not. Such is exactly how an LCD projector behaves. Each pixel functions like its own shutter on a set of blinds to either allow light through or to block it. DLP on the other hand is created of millions of microscopic mirrors or ‘pixel elements’ as pros like to call them. Each pixel element functions to either reflect light or block it.</p>
<p>How the light source is processed from the time the projector turns on to when the picture reaches your screen is vitally important with regard to image quality, brightness and colour accuracy. LCD projectors shine white light from the lamp by dividing it into red, blue and green components, by three mirrors which send the coloured light to 3 individual LCD panels. The 3 LCD panels create the elements of the image by switching each pixel on and off. The pixels are then meshed in a glass prism to create the projector image. Something important to realise about LCD projectors is that all three colours are delivered onto your screen at the same time. The way a DLP projector runs is widely different and even how an image comes out is not the same. With DLP, white light from the lamp is processed through a rotating colour wheel with transparent red, blue and green segments, at speeds up to 11,000 rpm/s. This way of projecting an image forms a sequence of red, blue and green light. The millions of micro mirrors mentioned above reflect the coloured light on the pixels to form the image elements. The elements of the image are sent in sequence on the screen, one colour at a time. The viewer&#8217;s eyes will then put together each coloured element of the image into a complete image. Using LCD projectors, all colours are available all the time to form the highest brightness and fantastic colour accuracy. In DLP, just one colour is available at once, and so resulting in lower colour brightness and accuracy. Some DLP developers have put a white segment for the colour wheel to improve general brightness, but this goes and degrades colour accuracy.</p>
<p>I read in forums all the time that DLP has a higher contrast ratio and as such must be superior. For those unaware, the contrast ratio is a measure of a display system defined as the ratio of the luminance of the brightest white to that of the darkest black that the projector is able to produce. DLP projectors do possess high contrast specifications in comparison to the majority of LCD projectors. At a glance, this can seem to be a plus, however, in real life, the true black level is determined by the ambient light in the room while the projector is being used. Do not be duped by contrast specifications on websites and in brochures.</p>
<p>When the content you plan to see requires moving images, DLP projection technology can also have image errors, or ‘artifacts’. The most often seen artifact that a DLP projector shows with moving images is colour break up. Colour break up is unavoidable in DLP systems because moving images keep changing between the time red, blue and green colours are projected. LCD projectors do not have this problem because the colours are projected at the same time. DLP builders have developed 3DLP solutions using 3 chips to solve the colour break up error, but the expense of these projectors make them hardly practical for the large part of businesses and consumers.</p>
<p>Another difference between LCD and DLP is how they make up for the refractive qualities of light. Think back to high school science, and recall when they taught you how different colours of light refract varied amounts when passing through the same lens. The downfall with DLP projectors is that they utilise the one same panel for the same lens to project Red, Blue and Green. All 3 colours are obviously different and refract light at different levels. Most of the time with a DLP projector, a superfluous yellow colour will show above and some extra blue will come up below an image as simple as a lone black line. During manufacturing LCD projectors can be adapted to take away these effects on the projected image, because each colour is refracted on separate LCD panels.</p>
<p>The sole true buy point (excluding price) with choosing a DLP projector is its smaller overall size and weight. However, this is only relevant with regard to transporting the device and must be traded off against the image superiority of LCD projectors. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As the Dutch came to dominance in sea power during the 17th century, the first yacht became a pleasure craft used mostly by royalty and secondly by the burghers for the canals as well as the protected and unprotected waters of the Low Countries. Racing was incidental, coming out of private challenges. English yachting began with King Charles II of England during his exile in the Low Countries. On his return to the English royalty in 1660, the city of Amsterdam presented him with a 20-metre (66-foot) leisure boat with a beam (maximum width) of 5.6 m (18 feet), which he named Mary. Charles and his brother James, the duke of York (James II, reigned 1685–88), built additional yachts and in 1662 raced two of them from the Thames, from Greenwich, to Gravesend, and back, on a Â£100 wager. Yachting was found to be classy for the wealthy and nobility, but after that time the trend did not last.</p>
<p>The first yacht group in the British Isles, the Water Club, was formed at about 1720 at Cork, Ire., as a cruising and unofficial coast guard group, with large naval panoply and rigour. The closest thing to racing was the “chase,” in which the “fleet” pursued an imagined enemy. The club persisted, for the large part as a social club, until 1765, and in 1828, when joining with other societies, it was known as the Cork Yacht Club (later the Royal Cork Yacht Club).</p>
<p>Yacht racing was first seen in some stipulated fashion on the Thames in the mid-18th century. The duke of Cumberland instigated the Cumberland Fleet for Thames racing in 1775. When George IV came to monarchy in 1820, it came to be called the Fleet to His Majesty&#8217;s Coronation Sailing Society. The Thames Yacht Club seceded after a racing argument, to become the Royal Thames Yacht Club in 1830. The first English yacht society had been started at Cowes on the Isle of Wight in 1815, and royal funding made the Solent - the strait between the mainland and the Isle of Wight - the continuing setting of British yachting. The association at Cowes became the Royal Yachting Club, likewise at the rise of George IV. Each member was required to own boats of at least 20 tons (20,321 kg). Sailing matches for high bids were held, and the club life was splendid. Ultimately Royal Yachting Club boats grew in size to over 350 tons.</p>
<p>In North America, yachting was first accomplished with the Dutch in New York in the 17th century and persisted when the English took power. Sailing was largely for pleasure and rose to its high point in George Crowinshield&#8217;s Cleopatra&#8217;s Barge (1815), which traveled on the Mediterranean Sea and created a minimum of luxury and sophistication for the later yachts in those waters from the late 19th century. The first continuing American yacht association, the Detroit Boat Club, was started in 1839. In 1844, John C. Stevens instigated the New York Yacht Club while aboard his schooner Gimcrack.</p>
<p><strong>Kinds of sailboats<br /></strong>The Early sailing yachts took the lines of such naval craft as brigantines, schooners, and cutters from the 17th century until the later half of the 19th century. The craft of large yachts was first largely impacted by the victory of America, which was drawn by George Steers for a syndicate started by John C. Stevens, and it was the boat for which the America&#8217;s Cup (q.v.) had its namesake after its win at Cowes in 1851. The first yachts were not designed and built in a contemporary sense, with merely a model for an outline. Not until the latter half of the 19th century did what was known as naval architecture come into being. Not until the 1920s did the application of the science of aerodynamics do for the structure of sails and rigging what such study had earlier done for hulls.</p>
<p>Because nearly all sailboats had been individually custom-built, there arose a requirement for handicapping boats before the one-design class boats were designed. Hence, a rating rule was decreed, which resulted in the International Rule, taken on in 1906 and amended in 1919. In modern times, one of the rapidly growing areas in sailing is that of one-design class boats. All boats in a one-design class are created to the same requirements in length, beam, sail area, and other aspects (for an example of a two-person sailboat, see illustration). Racing between such boats can be held on an even playing field with no handicapping necessary. A great example is the generic International America&#8217;s Cup Class adopted for racers in the 1992 America&#8217;s Cup race.</p>
<p>As long as yachting was done largely for the royal and the affluent, expense was no object, and the size of boats increased, in both length and weight. The promotion and preference of smaller craft happened in the later half of the 19th century from the sailing of the Englishmen R.T. McMullen, a stockbroker, and E.F. Knight, a barrister and journalist. A journey around the world (1895–98) sailed single-handedly by the naturalized American captain Joshua Slocum in the 11.3-metre Spray made plain the seaworthiness of small craft. Following this in the 20th century, notably after World War II, smaller racing and recreational yachts became more common, down to the dinghy, a preferred training boat, of 3.7 m. In the late 20th century, craft of less than 3 m were traveled in single-handedly across the Atlantic Ocean.</p>
<p><strong>Kinds of power yachts<br /></strong>After the decade 1840–50, during which steam started to take the place of sail power in market craft, the steam engine, and later the internal-combustion engine, were increasingly used in pleasure yachts. Large power yachts were progressed to a high degree, and long-distance travel became a fond pastime of the wealthy. The first power yachts were paddle-wheel boats; these then gave rise to yachts powered by the fully submerged screw or propeller kind of propulsion. As in the case of naval and merchant vessels, auxiliaries with both sail and power were the yacht fashion for a number of years. By the later half of the 20th century, many yachts were still auxiliaries, but the larger part were only power yachts with gasoline or diesel engines.</p>
<p>During the last decade of the 19th century there was a rise in the construction of more sizeable steam yachts. Conspicuous within these was the Mayflower (1897) of 2,690 tons, that had triple-expansion engines, twin screws, and a compartmented iron hull, and was manned by a crew of over 150. The Mayflower, bought by the United States Navy in 1898, was the official yacht of the president of the United States until 1929 and saw active service in World War II.</p>
<p>As bigger and more dependable internal-combustion engines were created, many bigger yachts began using them for power. The development of the diesel engine, employing heavy oil for fuel, advanced for World War I. During the decade following that, bigger power-yacht building blossomed, reaching a climax in the Orion (1930) at 3,097 tons. From that period the best auxiliary yacht constructed was the four-masted, steel, barque-rigged Sea Cloud (1931) of 2,323 tons.</p>
<p>The building of bigger power yachts declined after 1932, and the trend from then was toward smaller, less pricey craft. Following World War II, a lot of small naval boats were traded by private owners for conversion to yachts. At the late 20th century, yachting is a widespread loved activity enjoyed by thousands of yachtsmen who are actually sailing and upkeeping their own small pleasure craft. The amount of craft and sailors is increasing steadily, not only in the traditional locations on the beach but also on inland waterways and lakes.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Taxes are categorized by the effect they have on the distribution of income and wealth. A proportional tax is the kind of tax that applies the same relative onus on all taxpayers—i.e., in the case where tax liability and income move in equal proportion. A progressive tax is characterized by a larger than proportional increase in the tax burden in relation to the growth in income, and a regressive tax is characterizable by a less than proportional increase in the related liability. Therefore, progressive taxes are seen as reducing inequalities in income distribution, but regressive taxes can have the effect of an increase in these inequalities.</p>
<p>The taxes that are usually regarded as progressive include individual income taxes and estate taxes. Income taxes that are nominally progressive, however, may become less so in the upper-income class—in particular if a taxpayer is permitted to reduce his tax base by claiming deductions or by taking particular income components from his taxable income. Proportional tax rates that are applied to lower-income groups will also be more progressive if such personal exemptions are claimed.</p>
<p>Income measured over the period of a year may not necessarily offer the most accurate measure of taxpaying ability. For example, transitory increases in income could be saved, and during temporary declines in income a taxpayer may decide to pay for consumption by reducing savings. Therefore, if taxation is made comparable alongside “permanent income,” it can be less regressive (or more progressive) than if it is held in comparison with annual income.</p>
<p>Sales taxes and excises (with the exception of those on luxuries) are generally regressive, because the share of own income consumed or spent on specific goods declines as the amount of personal income rises. <p>It is difficult to term corporate income taxes and taxes on business as progressive, regressive, or proportionate, because of a lack of certainty regarding the ability of businesses to shift their tax expenses (see below Shifting and incidence). This difficulty of deciding who bears the tax burden depends essentially on whether a national or a subnational (that is, provincial or state) tax is being debated.</p>

Income tax legislature often contain graduated marginal rates—i.e., rates that rise as income grows. Heavy analysis of marginal tax rates are required to regard provisions apart from the formal statutory rate structure. If, for example, a particular tax credit (reduction in tax) lowers by 20 cents for each one-dollar growth in income, the marginal rate is 20 percentage points greater than indicated by the statutory rates. Since marginal rates specify how after-tax income changes in response to changes in before-tax income, they are the necessary ones for appraising incentive effects of taxation. It is even more difficult to realise the marginal effective tax rate applicable to income from business and capital, because it may depend on such considerations as the structure of depreciation allowances, the deductibility of interest, and the provisions for inflation adjustment. A basic economic theorem determines that the marginal effective tax rate in income from capital is nothing under a consumption-based tax.</p>
<p>Average income tax rates show the portion of total income that is paid in taxation. The pattern of average rates is the one that is relevant for considering the distributional equity of taxation. Under a progressive income tax the average income tax rate grows with income. Average income tax rates commonly rise with income, both because personal allowances are allowed for the taxpayer and dependents and also because marginal tax rates are graduated; on the other side of things, preferential treatment of income received mostly by high-income households could dwarf these effects, forcing regressivity, as signified by average tax rates that lessen as income increases.</p>
